Despite the pandemic,
Zoomark 2021 was a complete
success and an important
meeting place for the sector.

A growing market

When the next edition of the Zoomark show takes place in
Bologna on 15-17 May 2023, the sector will be eyeing the
expanding Italian pet supplies market with interest.

From 2007 to 2021, sales in the
Italian dog and cat food market
more than doubled from 1.163
to 2.533 bn euros, with average
annual value growth of +5.7 per
cent.
The growth in the last two
years is attributable to the in-
creasing number of dog and cat
owners, according to the 15th
edition of the Assalco-Zoomark
report for 2021. IRI data indi-
cates that sales of pet food rose
